Self-adhesive bitumen flashing tape

 General description  

The bitumen flashing tape is composed of surface films (PET film, aluminum foil or PE film), adhesive rubber/bitumen compound and release paper.

  Typical Uses  

●  Seals around nails and other mechanical fasteners, and is impermeable to water, moisture vapor and air. It can be used to flash around windows and doors, to seal joints, the area around vents, and other openings under most exterior surfaces including brick, stucco, wood, vinyl and metal siding.  using TS Technology (tear straight technology) provides ease of installation without the need for scissors or blades
 

  Specification  

●  Surface film:  aluminum foil, PE or PET 
●  Width: 50mm-200mm
●  Thickness: 1.0mm-4.0mm
●  Length: 1.0m-30m
 

  Application guidance  

●  Ensure that the surface is dry and free from dust, rust and loose materials.

●  Prime porous surface e.g. concrete and brick with a bitumen primer or black, bitumen paint, thinned with white spirit, which is allowed to dry.

●  Cut the flashing tape to the required length.

●  Peel back 5cm (approx) of the release backing paper and position carefully. Continue removing the backing paper whilst firmly placing the tape to avoid unnecessary creasing.

●  Smooth down so that the overall contact is complete, and ensure that all air bubbles are removed. Take care not to damage the surface of the tape.

●  Where tape is joined, ensure that there is an overlap of at least 1inch or 2.5cm.

●  After use release pack and store upright in cool and dry conditions.
